Another weekend and another snippet.
In a week that has surely gone down in history as the crappiest week in what has surely been the crappiest year so far, I think we all need some nice, warm, feel-good romance to read.
Rainbow Snippets is a group for LGBTQ+ authors, readers, and bloggers to gather once a week to share six sentences from a work of fiction–a WIP or a finished work or even a 6-sentence book recommendation (no spoilers please!).
From my WIP, Genie. Jayce and Tobrin share a sweet moment.
The next time Jayce opened his eyes it was to see Tobrin staring down at him, an enigmatic, thoughtful smile on his face.
Jayce smiled back. “What are you staring at?” He asked in a slightly croaked voice, his words slurred with sleep but full of affection.
Tobrin’s smile broadened.
“I’m watching over a sleeping beauty.” He replied.
Jayce snorted. “I’m no beauty.” He had slumped down in the seat as he slept, so he shuffled into a more upright position, tipping his head to one side as he blinked to focus on the real beauty in the room.
I hope you enjoyed my offering this week.
